A Glimpse at Jewish Singapore Wow - what can I say. We have been on many, many tours and found that Sarah ranks up there with the best. We find that a great tour starts with a tour guide that understands their subject AND can convey that information to you so you understand. As well you need to take the time to establish context for what you will be seeing and learning. She did all of that. We specifically were looking at the Jewish Heritage Tour and the looking at how Jewish people had influenced the growth of Singapore. Our group loved her and that story that she told. We went to both synagogues and then walked in the neighborhood so she showed us two of the buildings still standing with visible Jewish markings. She had a rapport with all of the people involved at both synagogues. We had a great discussion with Mendy, a Chabad "bocher" who shared so much of his history and the present day activities of the Jewish community in Singapore. Unfortunately we had to leave before Shabbat or we would have stayed and enjoyed the kiddush. At the end of the tour Sarah showed us the kosher restaurant in the Jewish Center, as it happened it started to rain heavily and we stayed and had lunch there. While it was typical Israeli and not Asian, it was one of the best meals we had on our 21 day trip to the Far East. Thanks Sarah for a wonderful day.

Our One Day Private Tour with Sarah Lev We took a one-day, private tour with Sarah. Our goal was to gain a much better understanding of the history and growth of Singapore into the financial and cultural powerhouse it is today. We had toured intermittently the prior few days with other groups but were left with many more questions than answers. Sarah addressed these with a custom, tailored tour that met and exceeded our expectations. We learned the history as well as much of the religion, art and culture beginning with the year 1299 over coffee reviewing Sarah’s historic maps at one of the oldest buildings. The tour included parts of the river, the National Gallery including art and architecture, and then several neighborhoods and the two most famous temples and associated art and architecture along the way. By the end, we gained an intimate appreciation of Singapore of old and today and are very grateful to Sarah and her wonderful, personalized tour for this.

Sarah Lev Kerem Tours My dad and I are exploring Southeast Asia for a few weeks and really wanted to spend a few days in Singapore to start our trip. Sarah was recommended to us from our travel agent and she was absolutely fantastic! She has a a strong knowledge in art history, religious sites, and the green architecture/culture of Singapore. We spent two days with Sarah and got a nice taste of everything. She was flexible and really made our experience special and to our liking with her itinerary geared towards our interests. Sarah was extremely knowledgable and beautifully combined the past of Singapore with its modern identity. Overall, we cannot say enough good things about Sarah and her tour and how it truly enhanced our experience and knowledge of Singapore! Coming from America, this was a far away place and we really wish to return again one day. WOW!

Highly recommended tour guide Sarah Lev I have been on a number of Sarah Lev’s tours, and every time I have learnt so much. Her knowledge of Singapore history, art, culture and architecture is impressive, and she knows how to structure tours which have just the right mix of walking and talking, and are designed with the tour participants in mind.

Singapore Jewish Heritage Tour We booked the Jewish Heritage Tour with Sarah. The tour itself was really interesting and we learned a lot about jewish life in Singapore. Sarah was a wonderful tour guide and since she’s well connected within the jewish community it was an unique experience. We got very lucky and got shown around the chesed-el synagogue by the rabbi. He answered all of my and my boyfriend’s questions and Sarah made sure to explain more basic elements of Judaism for my boyfriend who had little prior knowledge. So the tour is also very suitable for non-jews! I saw that she’s also guiding art centered tours as well which I will definitely book if I’m in Singapore ever again.

Rich history of Singapore Jewish life Singapore is a multicultural city which has grown in the past few years to becoming a city of extraordinary mix featuring vacation destination, foodie heaven, architectural innovation and living its history. Sarah was our guide and she today focused on old and new Jewish life in Singapore. Most don’t know that for example Jewish life began in the early 1800s, as Iraqi Sephardic came as traders. First textiles and foods as well as money changers and shipping. The first synagogue was started in 1841 and it still remains today. Sarah showed us a museum, a great deal of history there and a legacy of leaders through 200 plus years Sarah explained the building and legacy for the community Today while total community is small, there is a wonderful store for food and wine as well as Australian meats. We drove around and learn where the first Iraqis settled and how they moved over the years. There were difficult times during WW11 However the community survived. We learned so much in the three hour tour I can highly recommend it to allow
